About Us
GrandYllusions was started by Randy and Tracy Rowe in 2002 in Topeka, Kansas. Our main goal is in providing our clients with both website and audio recording solutions that are much more affordable than current commercial rates.
Randy graduated from Washburn University, Topeka, KS in the summer of 1992 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Computer Science and a minor in mathematics and statistics.
He was employed with a large national retailer for more than 10 years in their logistics development department. After leaving retail he began working for the largest school district in Topeka where he is currently leading the development team for the Student Information Systems. He is also the sole student systems developer for a local vocational technical school.
In addition to Randy's programming history, he is also a professional musician. He has studied drums and percussion since 1974 and has been performing in and around Topeka in various rock, jazz, and theatre bands, along with several percussion groups since 1985. He has over 15 years of recording experience both inside the studio and behind the glass as an engineer. Randy has recorded several local singer/songwriters and small groups and continues today.
Tracy graduated from Washburn University as well in the summer of 1990 with a Bachelor of Music Education. She has worked with several local music programs and has many contacts in and around the Topeka area. She is certified to teach instrumental and vocal programs from Kindergarten through Senior High grade levels including jazz, marching, and pep bands, general music, chorus, orchestra, music history, and world drumming of which she is also a certified clinician. Tracy is currently music director at one of the middle schools in Topeka.
Tracy organizes and maintains the financial side of the business.
Both Randy and Tracy continue to provide price-conscious instrumental instruction in their studio.
